How the calculation works
This converter first translates the input into milliliters using a lookup table: 1 cup = 240 ml, 1 tablespoon = 15 ml, 1 teaspoon = 5 ml, 1 ml = 1 ml. Amount in ml = amount × from_unit_ml. It then converts back to every output unit: in_cups = amount_in_ml / 240, in_tablespoons = amount_in_ml / 15, in_teaspoons = amount_in_ml / 5. For example, 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract: amount_in_ml = 2 × 15 = 30 ml, in_cups = 30/240 = 0.125 cups (⅛ cup), in_teaspoons = 30/5 = 6 teaspoons.
